IIT JEE-2012 CUTOFF

IIT JEE 2012 board has announced publicly before the entrance exams of 2012 that the cutoff of IIT-JEE for this year will be as per given below

For General Category of Students:-

Overall Cut-off will be 35 % and Subjective cutoff will be 10%

For OBC category of students:-

Overall cutoff will be 31.5% and subjective cutoff will be 9%

And For SC and ST students:-

Overall cutoff will be 17.5% and subjective cut off 5%

No Doubt, many of you are not getting the meaning of these words like overall cutoff and subjective cutoff for IIT JEE 2012.

Let’s take an example, if you are appearing for IIT JEE 2012 and each subject is of 50 100 marks then total marks will be 300, out of 300 you have to fight for the cutoff in order to get success in IIT-JEE 2012.

Suppose you are a general category student (means you belong to a general cast) . To Crack the IIT JEE 2012, you must have to crack the cut offs of IIT JEE 2012. as the overall cutoff is 35% hence you should have to get 35% marks of total marks i.e you will have to get 105 marks out of 300 marks (35% of 300=105 to overcome the cutoff and also you have to cross the subjective cutoff limit. so getting more than 105 marks are not enough only. You will have to achieve subjective cut off that is 10% for general category students, that mean you have to get 10% of more than 10% marks in each subject i.e you need to get more than 5 marks(10% of 50 marks) in each of three subject if you want to crack IIT-JEE 2012.

So as A Conclusion, if you want to crack the cutoff and want to get success in IIT JEE 2012 then you will have to get atleast 5 marks in each subject and also a total of 105 marks as per this example.
